Water, aka pure liquid hydrogen and oxygen, agua, aqua, H2O. Water goes by many names, but essentially it is our life force. I love facts so let’s just go over a few. Our bodies are made up of between 50–65% water. We are constantly losing H2O through natural body processes, you know, like sweat. We have to replenish the water we lose, so we do that through consuming – you guessed it – water at about the rate of 2 liters per day. I know what you’re thinking, this is a plumbing blog not a health class, but bear with me.

Let’s look at a few more of these lovely gems about the clear liquid gold. According to some of the most scientific sources, the Earth is made of about 71% water with 97% of that being saltwater (which contains too many minerals for human consumption). The remaining 3% of fresh water works out to be 2% frozen ice caps and glaciers and a whopping 1% of fresh, usable water. What? Out of all the beautiful blue we see on the pics of this amazing planet we call Earth, only 1% of that water that is usable?! Those are some crazy stats that are a little hard to swallow (pun intended). We need that 1% of useable water. It’s such a valuable and necessary resource.

There are about 1.1 billion people without access to this life sustaining substance. And our water sources are depleting.

I know what you may be thinking…seriously, this really can’t be true, right? I mean every time we seem to need water it’s there. Unless of course there is a plumbing issue. Those plumbing issues can have a big impact on our water sources. Let’s look at a few more facts for your brain to soak in (the puns are flowing). Household leaks waste an average of 10,000+ gallons per family, per year. That means if that drip in your faucet drips once per second it can waste 27,000 gallons annually. That’s a lot of water, and we aren’t even discussing the running water while brushing your teeth thing. In light of the fact that we need H2O for our existence, and out of the vast amount of water on Earth we have very little to use for that existence, it makes that dripping faucet a little more than a nuisance. Running toilets, dripping faucets, leaking hydrants all drain money out of your pocket and necessary precious resource out of your life. Let us help you keep more money in your pocket and the clear liquid gold usable and we can all do our part to save water.

Water is life…don’t waste it.
